Grant Funding Process

The United Way of Greater Waterbury aims to address the ongoing and emerging needs of the community.

The United Way’s adopted Impact Area strategies are utilized in prioritizing needs to be addressed.

Grant Requirements

All awards are for 501c3 organizations in good standing that provide services in the United Way of Greater Waterbury ten town area. (Bethlehem, Cheshire, Middlebury, Prospect, Southbury Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, Woodbury).

The following requirements apply:

1. Alignment with United Way Outcomes and Strategies

2. Statement of Purpose and Use of Funding

  • Intent of program proposed
  • Community need defined and documented
  • Target population identified
  • Outcomes to be achieved through program for individuals and the community
  • Amount requested and specific use of United Way Funds
  • Grant period for the request

3. Data Collection Plan

  • What will you report back to United Way and how will data be collected
  • Measurement tool to be used
     

4. Agency Budget

  • Approved budget
  • Audit and IRS990
     

5. Program Budget

  • Approved budget
  • Include any leveraged funds or in-kind services planned
