This year we’re offering an opportunity to pay it forward, by inviting you to help us remove one of the barriers that can stop women from attaining a life-changing job: the right clothes, or accessories, including shoes, scarfs and purses. 
Will you look in your closet to donate one piece that once made you feel like you could conquer the professional world, but perhaps no longer works for you?  We are coordinating with our workforce and reentry partners to gather gently used — or new — clothes or accessories to support women entering the workforce or re-entering after an extended absence. 
As the saying goes, you never get a second chance to make a good first impression. A well-dressed applicant can silently express reverence for the interview process and respect for the potential employer.  Then, the conversation can focus on skill sets and experience.
Also not to be understated is the powerful role the right clothing plays in boosting a woman’s confidence, especially when she knows that she has the support of her sisters in our community.
I hope you will consider bringing ONE article of new or gently used clothing on a hanger, or accessory, to the Women United Summer Social on July 16th for a special collection that can change another woman’s world.
